Chesney Floyd provides senior-level management for residential projects ranging from multi-unit apartment buildings to single-family residences, to small additions and accessory structures. He has managed multiple projects from the initial conceptual stages through construction and has experience permitting projects throughout the Bay Area, including variance applications on complex projects in San Francisco and Marin County.
Chesney has worked as a builder on custom residential remodels and as a design studio Instructor at the College of Environmental Design at Berkeley. He has been recognized with awards for his work on several design competitions, including First Prize Honor Award for his proposal for the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez Binational Arts and Cultural District Design Competition. He is a frequent critic on studio juries at CCA in San Francisco and the CED at UC Berkeley.
Chesney believes that good architecture has the power to transform people’s lives, and heal the environment. His interests include overcoming the contractual and logistical impediments to creating truly holistic, sustainable architecture.
Chesney received his Master of Architecture at the College of Environmental Design at Berkeley, and a Bachelor degree in English Literature and Fine Art from the University of Virginia. He is a skilled draftsman and a lover of the wilderness.
