Electronic Boutiques expands retail chain with new Los Angeles Flagship Store.

One-of-a-kind EB Games at Universal CityWalk Features a Unique Interactive Experience with Thirteen Gaming Stations.

West Chester, PA – August 5, 2004 – Electronics Boutique Holdings Corp, (Nasdaq: ELBO) has announced the opening of its first ever flagship store at Universal CityWalk in Universal City, California. This one-of-a-kind store will be the largest among Electronic Boutique’s 1,623 “gaming destinations” across 10 countries and four continents worldwide. The store’s interactive gaming experience is an exciting addition to CityWalk, a Mecca for entertainment and shopping.

At 2,859 square feet, the CityWalk location is more than double the size of a typical EB Games store, and is a living example of EB’s commitment to providing the ultimate video game destination. Consumers will be drawn into the store by the distinct outward appearance, consisting of enormous wind sails highlighting upcoming games, large flat screen TVs showcasing live gameplay and an oversized video screen above the store entrance featuring video footage of popular feature games.

As consumers enter the store, they will be encouraged to demo the latest game systems and software in a truly exciting, hands-on environment, which features thirteen interactive gaming stations. Inside, the store is divided into dedicated sections with gaming stations for each of the major gaming console manufacturers: Xbox, Sony and Nintendo, as well as the for the major software manufacturers: Activision, Atari, Electronic Arts, Lucas Arts, Take 2 Interactive, THO, Inc and Vivendi Universal. Additionally, inside the store there are columns featuring timeless images of some of the most popular video game characters of all time.

This one-of-a-kind store will be the largest in EB Games’ 1,623 retail chain, and represents a new concept for the company. The store also signals EB Games’ aggressive expansion in the LA area, which serves as a major center of the gaming industry.

The store’s official ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. Following the ceremony, customers will be able to partake in interactive demos and exciting giveaways. Customers can climb aboard the Xbox Console Coach or check out the Nintendo Interactive Truck Tour, two of the country’s hottest traveling gaming tours which features tournaments, demonstrate the latest in gaming, and provide sneak previews of upcoming games and products. The first 200 customers in attendance will receive prize packs, stuffed with Xbox LIVE and other gaming essentials. Additionally, there will be a raffle of high value gaming items including a Tony Hawk autographed skate deck.
